Connecting Slack to Metric Insights MCP Server
If your organization uses Slack for communication between employees, you can connect it to the MI MCP server to receive answers from Concierge service. Team members won't have to open Metric Insights to receive answers that come from the organization's data. Because those answers come from your organization's governed definitions, the numbers match what the reports already show.
Please follow this step-by-step guide to configure your Slack account and connect it to the Metric Insights MCP server.
PREREQUISITES:
- Concierge MCP server configured.
- You'll need Slack Workspace admin access rights.
1. Configure Slack App
Before any team member can access Metric Insights from their Slack chat, an Administrator must set up the App for it. Team members will be then able to use that App to ask questions of MI Concierge.
If you're not the Administrator user, proceed to Step 4.
You can connect the Slack account to Concierge via the Application. Go to the Slack Apps list and either create a new App or open the existing one you'll use to connect with Concierge.
1.1. Enable Model Context Protocol
